Tell the truth that changed me

Tell the truth, all the time, no matter what. We've all heard this all our lives and yet even the best of us would be hard pressed to claim we adhere to it. I, on the other hand, was a fibber, fudger, and avoid-er of responsibility extraordinaire. It was a long over due lesson. I really took this to heart after reading The Last Lecture, by Randy Pausch. Although I didn't love the language and rhythm of the book, I did find him to be pragmatic and effective in his life, and all of his advice was right on the money. I decided to do it.

The key to all of these is action. Action, more then words or thoughts (though they have their place) has been the key to real change in my life. Deciding to tell the truth was one thing, but the real magic happened when I did it. If someone asked me a question, I answered it honestly and immediately. If I screwed up I stood up and said so. It created a small amount of squirming and a tidal wave of relief and freedom. Free of the worry and shame lies create, I have been able to bring a calm confidence to my personal and professional life that has created a myriad of new opportunities and experiences.

How to boil dumplings

Chinese people love dumplings. Since ancient times, Chinese people eat dumplings every Spring Festival. Have you eaten Chinese dumplings before? Do you like them? If you have never tried them, then, just let me teach you how to boil dumplings!

If you want to eat the dumplings after they are finished you need to boil them.

First of all, make the water bolied in a pot. When it's boiled, you will see the rolling splash come up to the surface of water.

Then, put the dumplingd into the pot. During the time, you have to stir the dumplings with a colander at times to avoid they stick together.

After that, put the cover on the pot, let them boiled for about 5~10 minuties.

When you poen the cover and see the dumplings floating on the surface of water.

Now, the dumplings can be ate!

Vancouver trip

Vancouver is a big city.There are many buildings, roadsters, and neon lamps. It's completely different from Victoria.

There is big aquarium in Vancouver. There are various kinds of fish, forgs, starfish and jellyfish. My best friend Chenoa is interested in whales, because our friends and I always ask her a funny question, that is" Do whales have teeth? " And her answer is always" yes" That is interesting! Not only that, also she is fully confident of her answer. The biggest purpose of this visit that was to confirm if whales have teeth or not.

We saw the white whales, unfortunately, the white whales did not open there mouths.

The thing that make us crazy that is Chenoa's last answer. She told me that the white whales actually are dolphins!

FEAR Blog

I am afraid of bugs, I hate all of the bugs. They crawl everywhere, they are wriggling. The bugs always make me feel like wmiting.


Last week, I was doing my dishes, when I put the fork in to the drawer, I found a black thing with long antennas. I was completly sure that it was a bug!! I tried to kill that bug, but it ran so fast. I couldn't get it. I wanted to squish that bug with a napkin, but the hateful bug climbed on my hand. I was so scared, and I swung my arm at full tilt, the bug was fell on the floor, and I steppedon the bug fast.

Bugs stay away from me.

ZODIAC

I am dreamy. When I have nothing to do, I always dream about my future, something likee my family. I sometimes imagine who my husband will be and how many children will I have and when will I die. I like to imagine an imaginary story and I'm the leading role in that story.

I am humorous. I always make my friends laugh . I like to tell various jokes to them.

I am sensitive. Sometimes I can perceive someone's moods change, even if it's small.


I am not fickle. When I get into trouble I can always calm down and look for some way to get out of trouble.

I am not weak-willed. I think I'm strong-willed. If I decide to do something, nobody can stop me or can change my mind.

Tibet,the largest province in China,is located in the southwest of China,it has spectacular scenerieu and arcane culture.The average height of the whole region is more than 4,000 meters above sea level,for which Tibet is know as "Root of the world".Qomolangma is the highest of peak of Tibet,also the highest in Himalayas and in the whole world .Qomolangma is as high as 8844.43 meters above sea level.

It si freezing cold most of the year.Most tourists come to visit Tibet only in the warmest seasons,June,July,August and early September.

Reading

Part I

     In my memory ,my first time of reading in Chinese was with my mom .It was a fairy tale book named "Cinderella".It's a romantic,offecationate story.

     

     The firse time I read ,it affected my reading preference,therefore,I like to read fiction.

    

     I'm Chinese,so reading in Chinese is easy to me,but to read in another language is difficule for me,For instance,reading an English faction book is hard.

     

     I think the biggest problem of reading in English is vocabulary.There are a lot of difficult words to understand or to remember.

Part II

     There are ten libraries in Victoria.The one that we went to is named ''Central Library"It's a big library.We can find a lot of books in Central Library .Books are arraged very methodically.We can get the book that we want to read easily.If you can't find the book,you can search it online.The library provides computers to readers,that makes books easy to find.In China,there are also lots of libraries.The biggert difference is libraries in Victoria are completely free,but in China,libraries are hardly free.We need to pay for every book to borrow it and to read.

     Last week we went to the Central Library.I choose a fiction book named "Black Box",I think the story is about an aircaraft accident,then I discovered words on the cover"This tale of a good family that suddenly finds itself in bad trouble is witty and spare,and expertly maps the territory of depression."

     "It's going to more fascinating",I thought.The author is Julie Schumacher.I think Julie Schumacher is a wonderful writer.Iwill enjoy this tale.

spicy hot pot

Most Chinese people like hot pot.I love hot pot ,spicy hot pot is special .

We always put lots of kinds of food into a big pot with water or soup-stock.Sometimes we put a few traditional Chinese medicines.The most important thing is a lot of chilli and pepper .In spicy hot pot we also need a lot of chilli oil.

Red chilli oil makes hot pot greasy and fascinating.We heat this big pot and keep the fire burning when the broth is boiling we put vegetables or meat into broth and wait for wait for soup boiling again,wa can eat foods.It sounds like "gollum".I like mushroom and lettuce best, it tasts soft and succlent.

I also like to drink the soup,it is spicy ,salty and numbing ,it makes me slobbery.

Remember ,do not touch the pot .It is hot !!

Advice about how to get a bus in Victoria

I didn't kom how to get the bus .Buses in Vicatoria are different from buses in China .So how to get a bus to go to school and to go home is a important problem for me.

My homestay mom told me the buses arrive on time ,so I should wait for the bus at busstop before the bus arrives,because the bus will not wait for me .If I want to get off the bus Ineed to ring the bell ,because the bus won't stop at every stop And when I get off the bus ,I need say "thank you"to the bus driver .

I did as she said .I got the bus ,I rang the bell,and I said "thank you "to the busdriver .

The advice is useful.

My home city is taiyuan,china
Taiyuan is the capital of ShanXi province. It's a midium sized city and it's crowded.

Vinegar is one kind of the specialtes of ShanXi. It tastes sour and spcial, most people pd ShanXi love it .Someone without vinegar they even can't eat their food.






And there are a lot of kinds of noodles in ShanXi .ShanXiHuiGuan is a big restaurant in Taiyuan,there are hunders of noodles you can try.

Taiyuan has a long history.People call it "Dragon Town".

Winter in Taiyuan is cold and it always snows .

There are lots of coal mine in my homecity .So my homecity is always dirty.



Anyway,I miss my hometown.
